Whether you are hosting an academic writing retreat, a transformative wellness immersion, a creative workshop, or a collaborative team getaway, Spar Point Farm offers the rare luxury of undisturbed peace.
We don’t believe in rigid schedules—we work closely with you to adapt our spaces and pace to your group’s unique itinerary. While our retreat season runs during May, June, September, October, and November, your time here within those months will feel entirely your own.
We believe that deep work is best balanced by grounding hands-on experiences. To complement your daily goals, we invite your group to step away from the desks and mats to partake in the authentic rhythms of farm and island life.
Depending on the season and your interests, we can curate additional activities for your itinerary:
Sourdough Artisan Baking Class: Gather around for a starter-to-baking bread-making class to learn about each step of this age-old magical process.
Foraging and Brewing: Join us for our seasonal (fall only) trek around the island to forage for wild apples and pears from magnificent feral fruit trees, and then process and press the fruit to launch the cider fermentation process.
Garden-to-Table Cooking: Harvest fresh ingredients straight from our soil and enjoy a meal crafted from whatever our garden provides.
Beekeeping & Honey-Spinning: Get a fascinating, hands-on look at our hives and learn about the farm’s vital pollinators.
Sailing & Kayaking: Relax on a skippered sail boat for an afternoon of sailing in the Block Island Sound, or kayak around the Great Salt Pond and its connecting estuaries for fresh air and perspective.
Clamming: Learn how to harvest mollusks in Great Salt Pond.
Biking: Explore the island’s land and coastal treasures by bicycle. Depending on the time of year, guided scenic bike tours may be available for trekking over paved, dirt and gravel roads with multiple stops along the way.
Note: Some of the outdoor activities mentioned above depend on the season and weather
